Late October. The memory comes back strong
I am a child alone.
Bruised in spirit and body
And left alone to heal as best I can.I remember. Wide open heart and eyes,
The trust of innocence.
Whole in spirit and body
And growing straight and tall as a sapling tree.Winds of emotion, erosion in passing time.
The roots lay exposed now.
Abuse, persistent and subtle,
Wears away the will to withstand the crippling storm.God bless the children,
Abused or neglected,
Victims of incest with memories buried, from terror denied.
God bless the children.
Help us to heal our wounds,
To learn to be gentle with ourselves.I had a dream. An elevator out of control.
I plunge from the twentieth floor.
I have a choice.
I open the door.
I walk the stairs.
I own my Power.
I will. I am. I will. I am.Late October. The memory comes back strong.
I am a child alone.
Bruised in spirit and body
And left alone to heal as best I can.
I can.
I will. I am. I will. I am. Thy will. I am.
